Our training caters for children aged 6 years old and upwards to age 17 years
- no younger, no exceptions!
(Youngest age accepted is U8s - they must be age 6 by 1st January 2025
(i.e born in 2018) and turning age 7 in 2025)

Adult Running Club - age 18 & upwards.
Complete Beginners Group - Couch to 5km
The Couch to 5km programme is held ONCE a year from January to February.
Monday & Wednesday evenings - 8pm at the club track in Scoil Mhuire Community school, Clane.
(Minimum of 15 participants required for this programme to go ahead.)
Registration opens in late December/early January each year, and the programme finishes at the end of February with a graduation 5km run

Adult Club Track and Strength & Conditioning Sessions.
Adults who can comfortably run approx 5km, or feel they have enough fitness to keep up with our strength & conditioning classes or track training are free to join the club at any time in the year. We cater for complete beginner runners in our January Couch to 5km.

Couch to 5km (C25K) - Complete Beginner Runners
7 Weeks from January to February only.
Outdoors on the track
Monday & Wednesday
8pm - 9pm
Track Training, 5km+ Progressor and Advanced Runners

Varied Track training is available with our new team of coaches
Every Monday evening

Strength & Conditioning with Louise Mullen
Tuesday evenings
on the track or in the Scoil Mhuire Community school Gym,
(Gym is located to the immediate left, as you drive in to the school car park)
7pm - 8pm
Tuesday and Thursday evenings, outdoors on the track
This time slot is currently reserved for the Adult Running Club.
***there is no pre-arranged training on either of these days for the adult running club for 2025***
But, if the demand is there, depending on the training requirements and if a club member is available to lock up afterwards.
8:15pm - 9pm track time is reserved for our Clane AC club members if they want to use it.

How does the Adult Running Club communicate?

Clane Athletic Club adult running club have a dedicated Whats App group. We do not use ClubZap for communicating with the Adult club, although you are welcome to join the Clane AC ClubZap app for our general club announcements.
The Adult Running club Whats App group is where you will get all the up to date training information, changes to training times, call outs for group runs and any other announcements for the Adult Running Club.
When you register via the Athletics Ireland, unfortunately there is no function available to automatically add you to the Whats App group.
So, as soon as you have registered with Athletics Ireland and then turn up for training with the Adult Running club please ask one of the coaches to add you.

Other athletic disciplines - Jumps & Throws:
We do not have an Adult Athletics Club division for Jumps (High jump, Long jump, Triple jump) or Throws (Shot put, Javelin, Discus, Hammer)
Our running club caters for running only
i.e Beginner runners, Leisure runners, Medium distance runners, Long distance runners
***We do not currently have any volunteer coaches specialising specifically in Sprinting***
However, we do have track strength and conditioning sessions which will compliment anyone wishing to pursue sprinting events.
If you think you might be able to offer our club some sprinting training and would like to volunteer your time, please let us know!
We always welcome new coaches who can bring value added training expeirences to our members.
