Please go to our 2020 membership page for details on how to join the club:
or contact us on our club email: email@example.com
or private message us on our Facebook page.
We are located at:
SCOIL MHUIRE COMMUNITY SCHOOL
Our new 200m outdoor training facility at Scoil Mhuire has become the hub of Clane AC adult running club and juvenile training sessions.
Training plans on offer this year:
Couch to 5km running programme
7 week beginner RUNNING group.
3 weekly sessions:
Every Monday & Wednesday at 8pm on the track and one solo session by yourself or with someone in your group at the weekend
- Leader led 7 week beginners running programme
(Minimum in group 15 members)
Be advised, the Couch to 5km programme is a beginners RUNNING programme, it is not a New Year Weight Loss programme
- Although weight loss is often a welcome side effect!
REALISTIC EXPECTATION FOR PARTICIPATING:
You do not need to be able to run to start this plan, but a realistic expectation is that you do need to have a very basic level of fitness to participate in our beginner C25K running programmes.
i.e be able to walk briskly but comfortably for at least 3km.
How many sessions do you need to do a week to succeed with the Couch to 5km running programme?
....THREE sessions a week is required at least.
The C25K running group moves forward weekly through the programme, for the duration of 7 weeks, and members will fall behind if they don't keep to the structured training plan that is set out for them each week.
The first two sessions can be run with the group on the scheduled training evenings, and you will be expected to do your third run, by yourself, on Friday or over the weekend.
We are unable to hold C25K training up to stay back for members who have not kept to the scheduled 3 sessions a week training plan, as it is not fair on the rest of the group who are working hard to progress & the volunteer leaders who are giving up their time to be there for you.
5km+ maintenance running & further distances.
Open leisure run - Meet & Run group.
- arranged by members via social messaging.
Any time, any place, any distance!
Now that you are part of a large established Meet & Run group, just pop your message up with your time and place, and meet up with similar paced individuals and run for a chosen distance, go back when you are done!
Meet at the track.
Tuesdays and Thursdays 8pm
Join in with Christys sessions to build stamina and core strength, and take in a longer evening run with the meet & run group.
(Max distance in Winter evenings due to darkness
- 9km approx around the village of Clane)

- Interval training
- Sub 20 min 5km training
Usually Tuesdays & Thursdsays at 8pm on the track.
