Track upkeep & development is on going.
As a non-profit, volunteer based, amateur sports club, we have to constantly fund raise for all our equipment, facilities and to maintain the up keep of the track.
Your membership fee goes some of the way towards the annual general expenses that go into running a sports club, but there is more funding needed to reach our bigger goals.
We want to provide a wonderful facility for the community of Clane where we will always strive to promote health and fitness and the joy of movement & exercise. There is no financial gain for any of our volunteers - they simply contribute their time and efforts for the love of athletics.
"Health is Wealth" is perhaps a very apt saying in our situation, in more ways than one!
We are small group in the village of Clane, but we have big dreams, and aim to play our part in promoting a healthier country and securing the future of Athletics in Ireland.
The club always welcomes financial donations or sponsorship of equipment. Plus, we always need volunteers to offer their time and expertise.

Phase 2 - Track development - 2024 onwards
We would like to create an outer walking path, build a clubhouse with toilet facilities.
A new high jump area is also needed.
***Funding still needed***
Sponsor a name plate on the new track?
Would you like to have your family name or your child’s name permanently displayed at the new track?
For € 260 we will place each name on a plaque next to the new track.
This is a great way to support our track development and to mark your support for the club. This offer is open to members and non-members.
A sample name plate is available to view on request and we are appealing now for those interested to sign up using the relevant form. Clane AC is an approved sports body for tax purposes and if a PAYE individual makes a donation to the club, we as the sports body, can claim the tax relief from Revenue. Hence additional funding will accrue to the club.
For self-assessed individuals/companies they can claim tax relief when filing their income tax return

At the site of our new all weather running track & athletics facility in the grounds of Scoil Mhuire secondary school in Clane, Co.Kildare in August 2018 The progress so far.....Ground work started in November 2018 for our new athletics running track facility. The location of the new facility will be situated in an area of land central to the three schools of Clane (Scoil Bhride, Scoil Padraig and Scoil Mhuire) along the Prosperous road, with main access from Scoil Mhuire secondary school.
On 24th May 2019 we invited the public to come to a 'viewing' of the progress of the track so far. We also held a unique 4-mile road race to help raise awareness and to fund raise to off-set the capital costs of the project. The event was a resounding success!! The officially opened in December 2019. The new facility consists of a 2G artificial grass rubber/silicon sand fill with shock pad 200m track, and 100m sprinting track, long jump and throws area and flood lighting. Phase 2. We hope to create an outer perimeter walking track and build a club house. A dedicated High jump area is also required. |
