2024 Kildare League Age Groups
1. Age categories are calculated from 31st December in the year of competition.
2. Athletes must compete in the correct age group and they may compete up an age in certain circumstances. For example: 2024 Athletics Ireland age categories: Under 8s - Born in 2017 Under 9s - Born in 2016 Under 10s - Born in 2015 Under 11s - Born in 2014 Under 12s - Born in 2013 Under 13s - Born in 2012 Under 14s - Born in 2010 Under 15s - Born in 2009 Under 16s - Born in 2008 Under 17s - Born in 2007 Clane AC Athlete Selection Policy:
Clane AC are in the Division A league.
There usually three Kildare league days: Round 1 Typically held in March Round 2 Typically held in April Round 3 Typically held June |
The Kildare League - what is it?Like any sports club, all Juveniles are reasonably expected to participate in competition events throughout the year but the club especially expects our young members to attend the annual Kildare League.
The Kildare League is an enjoyable annual club event for our young athletes to compete against other Kildare clubs in the area. The competition days are spread out over 3 or 4 days during the Springtime / early Summertime months and all our juvenile members are required to attend each of the designated league days and participate in TWO events every league day. For each of the events the Juveniles participate in, they earn club points corresponding to the position they finished in. These points are accumulated over each of the league days, and on the final league day the total club points awarded from all of the league days will contribute to an over all club score and your childs efforts could help place their club as the over all winner of the league! Club points are only awarded when a juvenile member competes in TWO events on the same day. No points are awarded if a juvenile only participated in 1 event on the same day.
